Each day in February I'm hitting the water for SurFebruary and raising funds for cancer research at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
The reality is that one in two of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetime. That’s a pretty big statistic. The good news is that we can make a tangible impact on how we treat cancer by contributing to innovative cancer research that benefits us all.
It only takes a minute to donate and anything you can give (no matter how big or small) will go a long way to helping people with cancer and their families.

In it for solidarity, courage and compassion
Sunday 1st Feb I’ve decided to join Surfebruary this year. It’s my first year. My Grandma died of bowel cancer. Hearing her screams of pain at night was horrible, but she was so brave and strong, and stubborn too ;-) A dearest friend went through all the battles and healed herself back from breast cancer. A warrior woman. Now we have a little person and her family in community that i just want to stand in solidarity with - at the beginning of a big long journey. I’ve never given it a good hard crack learning how to surf - so now I am! Gonna face my fears, hesitancy, squeeze the time within busy schedule, rain, hail, freezing cold or shine. I’m in.
