WHY I'M DOING IT
I'm not a big swimmer - I don't mind swimming in pools and freshwater, but it gets really damn cold down here in Tasmania, and I'm not a huge fan of the taste of saltwater and getting smacked in the face by waves. I have tried surfing a grand total of 3 times in my life, and it has never gone particularly well, and in all I am very poorly suited to a challenge like this.
I'm here for one reason and one only - to pick up girls. Girls love a swimmer/surfer, and they REALLY love a good cause, and honestly I'm down to try anything at this point.
In all seriousness, cancer sucks - everybody knows someone who has had a cancer scare, or may have died because of cancer, and anything I can do to help improve the lives and treatment.of cancer patients and maybe find a cure is something worth doing. Frankly, getting in the water is great for your physical and mental health, and this is a great opportunity for me to build some good habits and get outside every day - raising money for a good cause is just a nice bonus.
if you're a girl and you made it this far, hmu
