WHY I'M DOING IT

Of course 🤍 Here’s a polished set of paragraphs you can use for a fundraising page or social post, weaving everything together naturally and respectfully:

This February, I’m committing to getting in the water every single day for SurFebruary, raising funds for cancer research at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse. Surfing has always been a place of clarity and healing for me, and using it as a way to give back feels incredibly meaningful. The reality is that one in two of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetime — a statistic that’s confronting, but also a powerful reminder of why this cause matters so much.

Cancer has impacted my life personally through the loss of family members who passed away from cancer. Watching someone you love go through that journey changes you. It’s heartbreaking, but it also strengthens my belief in the importance of research, better treatments, and support for families going through the same experience. If contributing to this campaign can help even one family have more time, more hope, or better outcomes, then every early morning and cold-water dip will be worth it.

The good news is that we can make a tangible impact on how cancer is treated by supporting innovative research that benefits us all. It only takes a minute to donate, and anything you can give — no matter how big or small — will go a long way in helping people with cancer and their families. Thank you so much for your support, I truly appreciate it.

See you in the water!
